An innovative singer deeply rooted in traditional forms, Gong Linna is pioneering a new direction for Chinese music in the 21st Century.
A graduate of the China Central Conservatory of Music, Ms. Gong is an award-winning soloist who has collaborated with international musicians including a Portuguese guitar master and FADO singer, German cellists, a Swiss string quartet, among others.
In 2010, her performance of the song Tan Te on Chinese national television to billions of viewers made her an over-night sensation, vaulting her to celebrity status and bringing her and her family back to
live in China after years residing in Germany.
In 2012, Ms. Gong and her husband, composer Robert Zollitsch, journeyed to her hometown in Guizhou Province where they identified promising indigenous virtuoso singers and musicians and formed the
“Da Bai Sang” Chorus which now tours with her.
